PCI-express vs. AGP 8x

nice question. AGP 8x is the best eveR!!!!!

Nah, PCI-express is the new thing, and right now it has similar benchmarks compared to AGP, but soon it will be streamline and better than 8x AGP

Considering that video cards only effectively use the bandwidth available for AGP 2x-4x solutions that might take a while.

PCI-E is better enough that if you're building a brand new system, go with a PCI-E board. But right now it's definately not something worth upgrading for.

PCIe isn't only for graphics cards....

If your just building a system you want PCIe because its more future proof. If you already have a good system its not worth the upgrade. YET

Yeah, but he clearly was referring specifically to graphics cards when he compared it to AGP.

Right now, they're the same speed. For the future, PCI-express will be your only option, but it will be a long time before a video card can utilize the bandwidth. Don't bother ugpgrading just for PCI-express. Only upgrade if you want a faster CPU, in which case PCI-express is a fine choice.
