Same components inside, yes. Go-L employs quite a bit of creative marketing descriptions to describe the same components. One of their objectives is to overwhelm the user with information.
Their website is kinda crappy in the aspect of technical data.
PC Torque is a Sager reseller.
The Sager website itself offers a vast amount of technical information, as does the notebookforums.com forum (in fact, I would sayt he forum is more useful in the way of information). As far as PC Torque is concerned, (again) do a bit of research. The reseller ratings can be found
here, and believe they adequately speak for themself.
I also read that on the new PCI Express top from Go-l they will be offering an upgradeable LCD display with the WUXGA and contrast ratio of 500:1 with 120 degree viewing angle and glossy finish? Will Sagers? top come with this as well?
Again, the components in both machines are identical; ergo, the displays will be identical. WUXGA has been highly requested, and Clevo undoubtedly will be adding the display choice around the same time PCI-Express is released; most likely,
this display. The display utilized will be the larger resolution version of
the WSXGA+ option currently offered.
I would be interested in seeing some full specs on the Sager new release, but then again I would also not like to wait until some time next year for this new top when Go-l seems to be dropping theirs sooner. I have not had confirmation on this statement, it just simply says that their top is for immediate release but it is not listed anywhere on their website for purchase, hence the reason for the thread.
Go-L unfortunately has promised this in the past, and has failed to meet those promises. Do not take my word for it; simply research the actual release dates as opposed to the proposed. As Clevo dictates a majority of timing of the releases, nearly all the information Go-L claims is speculation. Much the same can be said of Eurocom. Again, do not take my word for it - do the research, if you deem it important.
As for your read on Go-l the article is one month old and Go-l has clearly met up to their statements in the article.
Apparently, we did not read the same article. A number of Go-L's responses were rather rude (even a death threat?), and some factually incorrect.
Sager is a much better deal, but then the question arises again, are they using the same internal components and does Sager overclock their systems for stability and performance like Go-l?
Read up a bit on notebookforums.com. Adam (the owner of PC Torque, LLC and an avid PC enthusiast) gives wonderful benchmarking breakdowns, including Powerstrip settings for those who are gamers. Adam and the PC Torque staff thoroughly review nearly all Sager machines, with detailed specifications, photographs (including interior shots, and breakdown shots down to the chassis), benchmarks, overclocking options, etc. Here's an example of
the NP8790 review, and
the clocking options.
I know you pointed me to other forums to read up and find this information, but I have exhausted my eyes enough. Thanks for your help.
The research will help tremendously. Notebookforums.com does not descriminate against any make of notebook (you'll see several sections there, including Alienware, Dell, Toshiba, etc). Making an uninformed decision is what usually leads to difficulties. From the surface, it appears your intentions are in the right place; just perhaps that you've been fed a bit of misinformation along the journey.
Regardless, good luck with your purchase.
