computer magazines = generally not so verry well informed, even tho they claim so to be... it R writers, they make assumptions and such. you could run any modern card today on AGP2 and not notice very much of a difference.

anyways, my pont bout the PCI-E is that someone has to start eh, intel mobo's would come out without AGP, so without PCIe cards you're not much with them eh, so the cards have to come out first, but they cant go without mobo's etc ... just like the chicken or the egg, one has to go first.

I read a story today in an old computer magazine that said a geforce 2 gts could saturate a 4x agp bus.

Yes, it could, but that's entirely dependant on the software. As of now, games do NOT saturate 4X and 8X AGP. Regardless, even if they DID, that's not the slowest bottleneck in the data line from GPU to RAM, so it wouldn't make a difference anyway.
