considering there are games coming out now like double agent that require SM3 and wont run on anything less I would only consider the ati 1x00 models ( ie x1600 ) or the nvidia 6 series and up.

If you need to save money get that. With DDR3 it should run close to 1000MHz on the memory and handily beat a 9800 Pro.

thanks to the suggestions from them and the links provided I can see that was not going to be a good move.

i upgraded my 9800Pro years ago to a X850XT pcie..very solid and nice card
