How much would it affect performance if I used a 4850/4870 or GTX 260 in a pci-e 1 instead of 2.0

I've been waiting for the DFI Lanparty Jr series boards that have PCIe 2.0 support, because I want to maximize my bandwidth for my 4870, but I plan I on upgrading to nehalem when it comes out, which is the end of the year/beg of 2009 if I'm not mistaken?
Is it worth it to keep waiting for the lanparty jr boards that cost 200+ or just plop a asus hdmi mATX board in there with PCIe 1.0 support, since I plan to upgrade to nehalem within the year?
