One of my friends had a pretty good idea...if I dropped my current PCI video card (ATI Xpert 128) and replaced it with the ATI All-In-Wonder card, would I have problems using that thing's TV tuner?

Also, does anyone else out there run their dual monitor using that Xpert 128 card? Can you use the ATI dvd player to watch movies?

The card providing DVD playback or TV view *MUST* be the primary display in Win9x/ME, and probably in Win2K as well. THankfully, you can change the primary display on-the-fly in Win2K, whereas you have to make the change in BIOS for Win9x-ME.

good luck getting ati's programs working in w2k =P

you can hack ati's dvd player to work, but it would work as a pure software player. the tv functions would not work at all.

if you must have dual mon, your best option is to get a separate tv tuner. i was using a usb one for a time. it was a good option, and cheap. too bad usb 1.1 had too low a bandwidth to allow for anything worth while.

now i am on the aiw radeon, with an old matrox mystique as my secondary. oh, my primary was the rage fury.

Yeah, I'm currently using the Hauppauge WinTV-radio PCI TV tuner card. I was just thinking the ATI All-In-Wonder TV tuner is far surperior--almost TiVo like it seems to produce a cleaner picture.

Actually, ATI released Win2k drivers so there shouldn't be a big problem with that.

Although I have now left the realm of ATi for nVidia, I am aware that there is a new Multimedia Center for ATi's TV products as of this week.
