Hello all. I noticed that 802.11b cards have dropped drastically in price in the last year or so, and I now need one for my main PC to access my school's network. I was wondering, are there any 802.11b *PCI* cards? The PCMIA->PCI adaptor costs just as much as most cards do, and I was wondering if there was somplace that just stuck the antenna on the PC and was done with it.

don't get a USB one.. you're limited by the 1.2Mbps transfer rate of the USB interface while 802.11b can go up to 11Mbps.

Wrong, USB 1.1 can hit 12 megabits

It has overhead so true speed is lower but then so does 802.11b

Get a USB one. Not only can you transfer it from desktop to desktop and to a laptop, but you also don't have to deal with interference inside your computer.
