It is strange i had 512MB PC3200 Ram running at 400MHZ, before i install a 1GB Of PC3200 running at 400MHZ. After installing both memories are running at 333MHZ. iF You take out either one of them they get back to 400MHZ.
1. 512MB Module.
2. 1GB Module.

I really don;t understand why it is happening. I tried to change the memory speed from BIOS but it is not going up to 400MHZ.

Got to love those Emachines :)

I bet I know who could answer your questions...Emachines tech suppport. Well, actually, maybe they can't. LOL. I've got nothing against emachines, but you get what you pay for with them...try following the links in their FAQ. Most of them are dead. LOL.

I know that in other A64 VIA based motherboards, running more than 2 double sided DDR400 memory modules @ the same time will cause the system to downclock the memory speed to DDR333 FWIW.

Prolly a crappy bios?
A64 memory controllers are picky, and e-machines are crap.
Try putting the memory in different combonations of slots.

Maybe when you have a stick over 1 Gb, it automatically sets the ram at 333 mhz for stability?

Might have to call Emachines or read your manual.
