PC2700 DDR: Kingston HyperX or Muskin Basic Green...

Going to upgrade to a 2700+ on my 8RDA+ and I'm leaning towards 2x 256MB of Kingston HyperX PC2700 DDR. However, I have NO intention of overclocking, and the Mushkin Basic Green looks good at a great price. (Too many issues with Crucial and Kingston Value.)

I use this machine primarily for gaming; how much of a performance hit am I going to experience by going with the higher latency Mushkin stuff?

Thanks.

I'm currently running two 256MB generic (Infineon) sticks of PC2100 (6-3-3-2.0). One is single-sided, the other double-sided.

Would I honestly not notice a difference between the Kingston HyperX and the Muskin Basic Green?

Honestly, I would get a 512mb stick of Kingston HyperX pc3200. That way, you are fairly futureproof if you decide to get a 400fsb proc, and it can't be a whole lot more expensive... I got mine for $109 shipped at newegg.

I'd like some more opinions on this: Would I honestly not notice a difference between the Kingston HyperX and the Muskin Basic Green?

Go do a search and find out the difference. I have Hyper X right now, and I couldn't be anymore happier.

You wouldnt see any difference between Mushkin basic green and Kingston HyperX. At least if you arent overclocking. However, as stonecold said...do yourself a favor and get PC3200 rather than 2700. That way you have futureproofed yourself a little. Also, on an 8RDA+ you can run the RAM faster than the CPU bus and see a little performance boost outta that. Or if you dont wanna do that, good PC3200 could run at some pretty slick timings at PC2700 speeds.
