Can MBs that normally use PC2100 use PC2700 for OCing? What advantages are there using PC2700 vs PC2100 for OCing?

Yes, it is compatible. PC2700 is simply memory guaranteed to run @ 166MHz.
 
John's got it. The PC2700 avialable is simply PC2100 just pre-tested to run at pC2700. And the advantage is for eaither using it on an SiS 645 P4 board, or when overclocking to 166Fsb for the Athlon
 
Just remember that all PC2700 memory selling on the market right now aren't JEDEC approved final spec PC2700 modules. I believe the real PC2700 modules are supposed to have different packaging and newer switches.
