PC2700 = 166mhz?

my computer hass been having several problems and ive replaced just about every part except my ram but its 2 sticks and i was wondering if anyone could help me get my comp running fine, its a self-build:

3000+ 64-bit
512*2 pc2700
windows xp home
6600GT 8x agp
300w Antec PSU


All parts are new even my motherboard and I think I have all my drivers i downloaded nforce3 and nvidia geforce drivers off nvidia's site.

Yes, the true speed is 166mhz, but since it is DDR, it's "effective" speed is 333mhz.
