PC133 Ram Recommendations.

I just upgraded my computer to a BF6 motherboard and a PIII 850 FCPGA. My old ram in my previous board, a BH6 is old generic PC100. I want to overclock the PIII 850 to 112 MHZ buy can't with my old PC100. I want to replace my 3 old 64MB sticks of PC100 with one stick of PC133 256mb ram. What do you recommend? Thanks

Crucial, Mushkin, Mosel, and Kingston. Mushkin being the most expensive, some people swear by the stuff. I have Crucial, got it for like $77 at the time, and not its like under $60, rather depressing if you ask me :disgust: Either of the four should do fine though.

Mushkin is the best, but the most expensive. I would say the best for price/performance would be Crucial... But if money is no object, then Mushkin 🙂

Micron Technology over Hyundai!!!!!!
that's for sure.
But Micron Tech is CAS3 i think, izzit guys ?

anyway, I'm o/c my P3-450@600, with my generic PC100 RAM, no problem.
Maybe yours will work too?

Check with CompuWiz1. He's got 256MB PC133 SDRAM, Infineon Chips, same markings as those on the Mushkin Rev 3. 6 layer PCP. Does 150mhz @CAS 2-2-2! He sells them for $119 for one or $230 for two, shipped. Here's the most recent thread:

CompuWiz1 Linktified

CompuWiz1 is a very well respected trader. You can't go wrong with him.

Tates, I'm posting it in about 5 minutes, since it's going to be officially friday here on the west coast. 🙂

I agree with you Tates. Muskin is great as well as Crucial, but best bang for the buck seems to be the Compuwiz1 deal.

Tates and Valvoline6 are all over it! hard to beat Compuwiz1's deal on the 256MB Infineon! Best bang for the buck, definitely!

Mushkin has a weekend deal on Rev.2 pc133 cas222 128MB for $89.00 and free shipping. Too bad, was only $79.00 last night.

Get crucial the cas 2-2-2 part number ends in 7E this is good stuff seen it run at 158 mhz now thats fast and yes cas 2-2-2 at this speed as well 🙂

I'd would highly suggest crucial PC133 CAS 2 make sure that you get the cas 2 they make both cas3 and cas 2. You can't beat the deal the warranty and the 150+ FSB at cas 2.

i was unaware that Compuwiz1 sold RAM...at any rate, i purchased my CPU from him, and i am extremely pleased with it. business was also a pleasure.

nagibbs, John was selling PC133 rev2 in the for sale/trade forum not too long ago. the rev2 stuff uses the mosel vitalic chips and is the exact same stuff Mushkin uses, but John sells it without the Mushkin label, and it is therefore cheaper. although John seemed partial to mosel vitalic chips, he might be selling PC133 rev3 now, which uses infineon chips. PM or email him.

How come nobody here has mentioned Memman ?
He's got great prices on a variety of quality RAM. I'm getting ready to revamp my system and get rid of the 2 generic PC133 128MB sticks I have now. It works OK but I want to make sure I have the goods when I upgrade the CPU and m/b. I've been checking out his RAM (and reading good reviews too). Memman has Corsair, Infineon and Mosel chips with prices that are pretty dern tootin! Has anybody here had experience with this stuff? :Q

Nobody has mentioned Corsair either... Why not? I heard their PC133 CAS2 was really good... It's like $117 locally (kinda high)...

Mushkin, Crucial Micron, Corsair, KingMax, etc.

I have 1 Micron and 1 Mushkin stick in my computer

the price difference is sick, they currently run at the same settings

Mushkin - $115 American PC133 REV.2 128MB

Micron - $80 Canadian PC133 CL3@CL2(easy) 128MB

my cas 3 micron stick i bought from a friend runs quite easily at CAS2 on my CUSL2-C it is great RAM, the Mushkin as well.
