PC133 ram backwards compatable with PC66?

My dad has an intel 815aae something or another board that supports up to 133mhz FSB. It has a 733mhz celeron that (according to Intel) operates at 66mhz FSB.

He currently has two 32meg sticks in there and I was wondering if I could replace them with a 256 meg PC133.. would it work fine with the cpu knocking it down to PC66? Will the latency change? PC133 seems to be the most available kind of old school ram and it would make sense to get one incase he upgrades to a P3 1.2ghz chip down the road.

Thanks,

Thanks for clearing that up. I read somewhere that some manufacturers say its not backwards compatable because the older i810 boards couldnt handle the chip density..

Anyway, I found this place called ajump.com that has Kingston PC133 256mb chips at CL2 for 36 bucks with free shipping. Should I be weary? CL2 will give a performance boost, no? Here's the link:

Kingston 256mb PC133 cl2 $36 + free ship

PC133 should work fine at PC100 and PC66 both ... just make sure that the motherboard supports that high of memory stick (ie, make sure that a 256mb stick will work in the motherboard). You shouldn't have much of a problem, though ...
