PC133 memory configuration question

I posted this in the hardware forum, but thought perhaps this may be the proper place afterall. Please excuse the simplicity of my question, but I'm new to this.

I am replacing (not adding to) some PC100 memory. I ordered 128meg of Mushkin Hi Perf PC133 (cas 2). My motherboard is an EPOX 8KTA (and Thunderbird 800 processor) with an Award bios. I am not overclocking, so the bus speed is set at 100mhz. Do I need to make any bios changes to fully utilize the PC133 memory (and if so, what), or will the memory get autodetected?

Thanks in advance for any help.

When mixing PC-100 and PC-133, the memory bus is "ruled" by the slower Dimm(s). I'd set your Bios to "By SPD." This allows each Dimm to do its best.

I guess I wasn't clear. My intention will be to replace the current PC100 with the new PC133 memory (the old PC100 will go in a different machine). When it's all said and done there will be 128 meg of PC133 only. So under this situation, will the new memory require any bios settings/changes to enbale it to work propperly/fully?

The kt133 chipset recognizes pc133 ram. There is a bios option to set ram speed, but it is set to auto by default. You should have no trouble. I would not expect to see much improvement in your system, but everything helps.

OK, Thnaks. So it sounds like the speed setting will be autodetected. Do I need to do anything for the CAS, or will that get detected too?

PS. I'm hoping it will at least give me a few percent improvement under some circumstances/applications. Every bit helps.
