PC100 in DDR slot?

did a search for this in forums and Google too... Can PC100 be used on DDR motherboards? does it depend on the MB? Thanks-

There are some motherboards out there that have slots for both though, but you can only use one type at a time. It's mainly pc133 and pc2100.

Ah, but the answer "no" is not completely right. :) If a board has both SDRAM and DDR-SDRAM slots, then PC100 can be used on that board. The K7S5A for example.

The thread title question and the question in the post itself aren't the same question. :) One mentions a slot, the other doesn't.

Anyone remember SIMM converters? Allowing 30-pin RAM to be used in 72-pin slots? Same for 72-pin RAM in SDRAM slots.

Anyone ever hear of an SDR-to-DDR converter? Mind you, the price of the unit might negate the difference of just getting PC2100.

PC100/133 has 3 pin banks, and DDR only has 2. not going to work.. it's easily identifiable by those pins...
