PC Won't Turn on

When I turn on the PC on everything sounds normal like its about to power up but for some reason the monitor does nothing. Theres no beepings or anything. I've tried running with 1 Videocard/switching which one was in first/switching out the ram/disconnecting some hardware to see if it was a PSU issue and that didn't work. Has anyone had or heard of a problem like this? I'm looking for the cheapest option available because this is no longer my primary PC since I have a macbook pro now but I really need to get info off of the drives.Of course, I wouldn't mind fixing the computer but if someone here has a solution or something else I can try before spending money that would be great. If i have to pay alot of money I would rather just buy external casings for the internal drives if it will work but that would be the last option
The Specs of the computer are
Asus A8n SLI Deluxe
sound blaster audigy 2
2x 6800 Ultras in SLI
1GB Ram OCZ PC3200
AMD FX 55
2x DiamondMax 10 200GB

Take the motherboard out of the case.
Plonk it on a non conducting surface.
Remove everything apart from PSU, CPU, One GPU One Stick of RAM.
See if you can get the thing to post like that.
Make sure your pc speaker is acivated (there's often a jumper somewhere) in case you are actually getting beep codes and just can't hear them.
If that doesn't work try a different PSU if you have access to one.

Good luck!

Can you try the monitor on another pc? I've had a similar prob that was a bad relay in the monitor, it's in the power circuit, used for powering off for the energy saving modes.

sounds like a monitor issue if you dont even get the post info from the mainboard on the monitor. could be monitor, or cable or pci slot on MB also.

the monitor works fine on other computers.. i tried 2 monitors with that 1. I haven't tried taking everything out of the case yet since that is alot to do I wanna try everything first b4 i get to that. how do i reset the CMOS?

First, remove the power cord.
Locate the jumper near the battery on the motherboard and
place the jumper from the 1-2 pins on to the 2-3 pins and leave it for
a minute or so. Then replace the jumper from the 2-3 pins back to the
1-2 pins.

Reconnect the power and boot the machine. You should hear several beeps.

This just happened to a friend of mine - after an hour of component isolation I narrowed it down to the motherboard. A quick trip to frys and back fixed things right up.
