Hi everyone,

I searched the forums and the web but I can't find an answer to my problem. Last week My PC refused to turn on (I had it working that morning). The Power button light is illuminated and the green light on my Mobo (Asus P5Q pro) is on but the CPU fan and all the other things refuse to start when I press the button.

My PC is:

Intel E8400
Asus P5Q Pro
Nvidia 260 GTX

The PSU is a BFG ES-800

I yanked out the current PSU and connected an old Antec 350 watt PSU and I was able to get the CPU fan to start up using that, but I dont have cables to hook up the GPU, so I cant get any picture.

I RMA'd the PSU and when I got the replacement it still refused to boot up like before.

Does anyone have any idea why my newer PSU will no longer start my PC while an older weaker one will atleast spin the CPU fan? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

If a replacment PSU of adiquate size has the same probalem then the motherboard may have a problem. But since a low end PSU did fine without being connected tot he Video card then your video card may be the problem.

it happened to me once ....just replace the motherboard battery , that is the simplest solution if nothing is serious
