It will turn on the fans and such. but i get no beeps and i get no screen for bios or anything. monitor says no signal.
i know that the ram, video, and cpu have to be seated properly or it will give series of beeps. but this wont even give the one beep you get when you turn it on. mobo bad?

its a azz kt133 with 850 athlon. Its not my puter but the people who own it have no money so i am tryin to help them.

Did you check to make sure that the computer speaker was plugged in. I was working on a computer this weekend that didn't have the system speaker plugged in. Make sure that is plugged in.

Also, make sure that your powersupply is on the right voltage setting.

thanx kxb....tried both those areas are covered.....still troubleshootin....reading mobo manual but it sux....kinda like the mobo itself...lol

Was this just recently put together?

Disconnect everything, hard drive, cdrom drives.. all but ram, video & cpu.
Not all motherboards will give series of beeps when one is not properly seated or faulty.

Double check all settings, jumpers etc.

Clear cmos by shorting pins if option available or removing battery for a bit.

Then start with one part at a time. If same problem exist.. remove cpu and see if it beeps.
Then put cpu back and remove memory to see if it beeps. Then put memory back and remove video card.
If it never beeps doing those things then most likely motherboard is the problem.

If say you remove cpu and power it on and it beeps.. then probably bad cpu. Its trial & error. You can use your own video card and memory probably to rules those out.. put them in his motherboard or his cards in yours.
