No, I'm saying that they suck.
It's nothing to do with learning. A mouse is far superior in terms of accuracy than a joypad.

Agreed. An FPS on a console has to be written to take this into account.

Yes obviously a mouse is far superior in terms of accuracy because you can pin-point much easier. so like i said, its just harder to control with an analog stick, and many PC gamers can't garnish to the learning curve so they automatically dismiss it.

i remember wheni used to use keyboard only for FPS games, back in doom and wolfenstein days. i didnt wanna give the keyboard/mouse combo a chance cause it was just so hard to use that it didnt make the game fun. i couldn't enjoy myself using the kb/mouse back then.

then i gave it a chance, and yea, kb/mouse is far superior. but when you are on a console, you dont have that option, so you must use the controller and adapt to it. you would be missing out a bunch if you didnt PC game and didnt play FPS games on xbox soley because of its controls being too hard for you to aim with such precision and accuracy as you can with a kb/mouse.

xbox360 is going to have many FPS games because FPS games were the #1 selling genre on xbox, so that shows that many people can adapt easily to the analog controlling.

and as DivideByZero said, FPS that are on console first then make to PC, typically control better on the console. and vice versa with a PC first game that is ported to console.

This is true.
I wrestled the controller from my girlfriend the other day to try Halo2 and was incredibly frustrated at how hard it was to aim.

Right now, PC, because I'm a college student and it's more convenient.

But once I settle down and get a nice HDTV and speakers, I'm betting I'll prefer console over PC except for RTS and FPS.

Which do you prefer?

Yes. 😀

Though lately I've moved to mostly console gaming. It's more comfortable to lounge on the couch than to sit at a PC, after all.
