PC video monitoring - nanny cam etc ?

I how have the need to set up an internet monitoring camera system (4 to 6 cameras) and have no idea where to start . The x-10 stuff seems tempting because of the price butI know so little . Can someone give me some suggestions/ links ? - thanks

There is something called EZ Watch but this seems to be expensive.
