Pc upgrade

hi. Im looking to upgrade my pc. I currently have:
Os: windows 7
Mobo: msi z77a-g45 (ms-7752)
Cpu: intel core i5 3570k 3,4 ghz
Ram: 4x 4gb corsair pc3-10700
Graph: asus nvidia gtx 970
Storage: 500gb samsung ssd(os)
1tb+3tb


I bought a new msi x370 gaming pro carbon and im looking to buy a ryzen 5 1600 and some ram, maybe corsair vengeance lpx 2x8gb ddr4 2400mhz ( unless you guy suggest otherwise); i will add more ram later on.
I want to keep everything else; just to move them to the new mobo; including the ssd with the os on it.

I heard that ryzen have problems with windows 7.

My question is : will it work. Just transfer the ssd and install the new drivers on it? Is it better to install the drivers/or some of them before moving the ssd( usb 3 or something, i dont realy know)
I also heard that amd will launch new ryzen pro cpus. Shoul i wait for ryzen 5 pro 1600?

I use my pc mainly for gaming. I'm not planning to do overclocking.

If you use your pc mainly for gaming, you really won't see much of a difference right now between your i5 and a Ryzen. That's a lot of money to spend on a new cpu, mainboard, and DDR4. The video card will become the bottleneck anyways.

If you can still return it i'd wait a while. A Ryzen upgrade 'might' get you a few percent extra FPS in cpu-bound games while a GPU upgrade to say a GTX 1070 would give you almost a 40-50% increase in FPS.

Games don't need more than 16GB of ram so do NOT buy any more. And normally i would say yes to upgrading your video card, but the prices are absolutely insane right now because of the mining craze. I'd hold off like i'm doing until the next gen of video cards release.

Very good suggestions here. The only thing holding you (and many of us) back right now is the mining craze.

Should I cancel the upgrade all together or should i go for better cpu?
The mobo that I bought is good for future upgrades or should i just return it and buy something else in the future ? There was a price offer on it for a week ; about 40$ drop.
Do you guys have any suggestions to what should i go for to make a difference?

Since you are mainly doing this for gaming, I would just wait and get the bast video card for your budget when prices get closer to normal. Then see if the cpu is holding you back at all and upgrade accordingly.

Ryzen does better with DirectX 12 and DirectX 12 requires Windows 10. The i5-3570K is better under DX11.

If you plan to record your gaming or something really thrashes the CPU like Battlefield 1, Ryzen will not be interfered with, so to speak. But the i5 will similar performance if you don't do auxiliary activities while gaming.

Really, if you don't plan on overclocking, then the i7-7700k is the way to go since it is stock clocked at 4.2 GHz and turbos up to 4.5 GHz.
