Pc Upgrade

I am thinking about upgrading at some point probably after Venice comes out. I am wondering would a A64 3200 or 3500 be much better then my current setup? I cant overclock this CPU because my ram blows would it better to just upgrade that and wait longer? I would probably get the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe along with a Venice CPU (after the prices drop some) and 1gb OCZ EL Plat Rev 2. Also I am not sure about buying another video card now since I have heard rumors of WGF complaint cards coming out at somepoint. My current card is a AGP so I would have to replace it as well. Thanks!

Thanks that site was very informitive. I had not seen any graphs with my CPU on them in a while lol. I am wondering is there a noticable diffrence when going from a hyperthreading CPU to a non hyperthreading CPU?

I think hyperthreading for the most part is a farce...

hey man, I bet you love ASUS for their stability and everything ( me too ) go with the DFI nf4 on this one its a freakin beast and I love it personally, along with everyone else that owns one 🙂 the ram in my sig can hit 300+ x 9 at decent settings and only at around 2.8volts so you dont have to worry about overheating 🙂

Good Luck on your purchase

Stryke.

Yeah the Asus has never let me down 🙂. I have heard alot about the DFI's lately I am wondering is the diffrence between the LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR and the one you have? The NF4 DLI-DR cost $215 on newegg while the UT NF4 SLI-DR cost about $185.

why did they use a kt-800 for all the amd tests..isnt that the chipset that you cant even lock?

Overclocking memory and an overclocking cpu in a Asus a8n? I think you need to look at the DFI. There is no point in upgrading right now if your not going pci-e.

Yes someone else said that if you look up a few posts I also asked a question about the DFI's. I would have to go to PCI-E if I upgrade to one of those boards because they dont have AGP. My question about the DFI is what is the diffrence between the NF4 SLI-DR and the UT NF4 SLI-DR? one cost a whole lot more then the other one and I dont see much of a diffrence besides extra cables and stuff in the box. Is that the only diffrence between them? Thanks
