Howdy,

I am wondering about the PC Toys CaseMaxx 610 Aluminum case. I am trying to hunt down a better price, since this was at CompUSA. The case overall looks like a Antec or Chieftan, but oem'd with a PC Toys logo. The case itself is aluminum with a plastic front. The entire side is plexi and they added a 92mm fan on the side. Without a power supply, they wanted $109 Link to PC Toys CaseMaxx 610 At least you could add your own power supply of good quality. :)

Anyone have one? Any comments about these? I have read the review over at cluboverclocker. They rated it highly.

Hey Nerdwannabe,

You really assisted with this thread here huh? If you have not scene the case physically, then you need not comment. The entire case is in the exact same mold as the Antec SX-1080 Plus case, but made with Aluminum. enuff said. The plexiglass side is probably the best manufactured one I have scene out there. Besides, they come in black, blue, green, and yellow. I used the green picture because with the black picture, you can not see the front very well.

Wizbang, I was at CompUSA today and saw the case in black that you mentioned for $110 + tax. This option should be cheaper than buying it on-line for $109 - and having to pay for shipping. I just checked one out today. Nice, light - and lots of smooth edges.

What I was most impressed about was that the salesperson knew his stuff when it came to the case. I mentioned Antec, but he corrected me in a nice way. Now, when was the last time you were in CompUSA and dealt with a knowlegeable salesperson? Months? Years?

Hey Jizzbang. For your information I do have this case. They called it a Chenming Chieftec Turbo gamer with a plexi window. I got mine with cheapo 420W power supply and I paid about $125 for it 3 months ago. Your price sounds good at $109 just get it. I am running an EPoX 8K9A mobo with an XP 2400+. I'm using an Innovatek water cooling system for the cpu and harddrives. With a 120mm fam radiator and an eheim 1046 pump I am only getting 7 degrees above ambient on the cpu. Just fyi, I replaced the power supply with a Vantec Stealth and added a few cold cathode lights and tri color case fans. With a water dye added to the cooling system it looks pretty cool in the dark.

You can also get these at Fry's along with a 420W PSU for $85 after rebate when they go on sale. Usually every Friday-Tuesday.
