I'm running 32-bit XP Pro.

I used to use Symantec's tool suite, which I still have on my XP Home laptop. I liked it, but it was perhaps overkill for what I used on it. One of the things I used a lot was the registry cleaner and defragmenter and I also liked the windoctor and general system cleaner.

What is everyone else's recommendation for similar or same?

i use tweak ui
the microsoft thing for 2k/xp/me or whatever with the icon rebuilder, and other stuff you could configure, that's about all I use

sorry, its not called powertoys, its tweakui in the powertoys section, I do use a lot of the powertoys though

IMO CCleaner is the only "system cleaner and registry tool" that you need. It's also free.

CCleaner "Crap Cleaner" get my vote...So easy to use even for novice user.

I use JV16 Power Tools it is very effective and safe.
it has a very simple interface but comes loaded with a powerful set of system tools
I have not found another program that comes close.
