PC speaker magnet

I just mounted a hard drive on the lowest bay in a midtower AT case (it was the easiest one to reach). My concern is that it is directly over the PC speaker (about 4.5" away). Could the magnet in the speaker pose a threat to data on the drive??

And the IDE cable seems to be a very hard to disconnect. Is it OK to tug at the cable itself, or is there a better way??
