i moved my computer to my room, so now it is this rooms only dvd player, and its really annoying having to get out of bed to pause the dvd, or turn the volume up/down. Every remote ive found says compatible with mce onyl. I dont care about all of the features and stuff, i just want to play/pause, turn volume up/down and possibly change scenes.

Does anybody know if these exist? if so where can i find them?

i just want it to be like usb or maybe firewire, the 200 dollar one is a bit expensive.....anyone know if the media centre ones would work, just without all of the fancy features?
 
ya, if i can't find anything else that might have to do....i just didn't really want something that bulky...thanks though

it comes with a program called beyond media basic that you can use (it is junk though). if you like an organized media program, i would recommend spending the extra 20 bucks or whatever and getting the full beyond media program. it is really cool. you can use it for music, DVD, pictures, video. but the best part is the huge amount of plug-ins that people have made for it (weather, MSN, drink recipes, movie showtimes in your town and downloadlbe trailers, computer monitoring etc). if that is not your bag, the controller will still work fine, it is a nice all-in-one environment though.
