when i check reliability it says video hardware error.

this occurs no matter what i'm using to encode, tmpgenc, xvid4psp, pazera.

i put my cpu back to default from OC and it still did it, everything else runs fine, games, etc... for hours no reboot.

but once i start an encode, within minutes it reboots. i also increased the fan % on my 7970 to see if the video card was overheating and it still reboots. air'd out system as well. no dice.

seems not to be an oc issue so i'll be setting it back to 3.85ghz @ 1.35v

any ideas?

Try some CPU intensive process that isn't encoding, such as Prime95. If it still reboots, I'd suspect a power supply, mobo, or CPU issue (in order of decreasing probability).

dl'd memtest, will try that tonight. it's weird that it's only encoding. i can play cs:go, world of tanks, diablo 3 for hours and not a hiccup but i guess those aren't as intensive ?

update for any that care, looks like the video i was trying to encode was causing issues. i started encoding other random videos and they all went thru, however that one video reboots me everytime.
