PC racer Recommendations

I am looking for a PC racing game that has the damage, customization, and car variety similar to Forza 3 and the open worldness and story of Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition. I would prefer that it had a large amount of older cars such as the 1969 Charger. Having controller support would be a bonus.
 
I haven't tried Grid 2 yet, I liked grid 1. Other than that however the only racing series I have really cared about was the need for speed shift series. I am unfamiliar with console racing releases.
 
Look up PROJECT CARS, its in the early phases but offers some of what Forza has.

Like you, I am also curious why a Forza does not exist on the PC......
 
The only customizations Grid 2 offers (and the first one for that matter) is cosmetic. Grid 2 on the other hand is a really good racing game, I haven't been able to put it down for the past couple weeks.
