PC problems again

I've been having pretty bad luck putting together my PC.

First I burned out my Athlon AXIA and MB (defective) and now that I got my new parts again, my PC still doesn't work right.

I have the PC all set up and not OCed but I keep getting memory dumps in Win2K. The memory was working fine in my older 1Ghz Athlon Classic Abit KA-7 PC so I don't think the memory is defective. But whenever I get a memory dump or just shut down the PC, the PC will not reboot. The machine powers up but does not post, just a blank screen. When I unplug the PC and take the battery out of the bios and leave it alone for 10 mins, the machine will boot up again.

What do you think causes this?

I have the AXIA L1 bridges unlocked using a conductive ink pen and it does OC so the CPU seems ok. All the parts, other than the CPU and Iwill KK-266 MB, are from my old PC which was working fine until the PS blew out.

Did you do a clean install of the OS when you swapped motherboards.

It actually shouldn't make a difference, but I have seen wierder things happen, so anything is a possibility.

Ok I'll try that. I didn't resort to it but I guess I'll have to.

Thanks.

That still doesn't explain why the PC doesn't boot after it is turned off though.
