I'm going to be running a new computer soon, here's what i got:

ASUS AV8 Deluxe
Radeon x800 Pro
1gig extreme dual channel pc3200
AMD64 3500+

Would i be able to run the newer games like Halo and FarCry at 1600x1200 resolutions with no problems or slowdown?

Or, if i overclocked my amd to about a 2.4, would i be able to?

I think you would be able to max out the settings or, if not, get pretty damn close. At least I hope so, since that's basically my new system part for part

Yeah, my parts all arrive within a week, i'm extremely excited to try em out on some new games

Your system at stock speeds should perform just fine; if it's a little short of your expectations you can always overclock a bit.

I've read some good things about pairing up a X800 and A64, especially for gaming.

Heck, my XP 3200+ & 9800 Pro run those games with all the eye candy turned on to next to the highest settings... so build it, love it, use it.
