PC or MAC ? fastest processor ?

the new intel processors that will be used in macs come out next year

as of right now, amd is still the fastest

and quad dual-core is only available with a mobo that has 4 cpu slots, the opterons are the peformance leader in that (since they have seperate memory channels for each cpu)

quad-core cpu's are slatted for next year as well

It is possible. The current Athlon 64 chips are still ahead of their time in terms of the performance needed and the performance they deliver. The G5 Mac systems were fast when they came out, but the PC crowd had computers as fast or faster than the G5 for at least a few months.

What the hell are you talking about? It's 2x dual core CPUs, not 4x dual core. They're calling it quad core, not quad CPU.

Two dual-core 2.5GHz PowerPC G5 processors

If it's anything like the 2.5ghz+ dual-CPU G5 towers, they don't need watercooling, but Apple will go ahead and use it anyhow rather than deal with more noise-making fans.
