Hello. Well, last week my computer has been having some problems. At first, I was just on it and all of the sudden it just turned off by itself. I had to wait about 5 minutes until I could finally get it back on. This happened for about two days, and now all of the sudden it won't even turn on at all. Someone told me it may be that the power supply is bropken, but I don't want to go out and buy a new part because, to tell the truth, I don't really know that much about it, lol. So, any help? Thanks in advance!

Someone #2 here ;) Not sure if it's bropken
but it has probably said good-bye.

The only way to find out what is causing your problem is to try known working parts. In this specific case, you need to try a PSU. Either you borrow from a friend who has a spare PSU or buy one. Replacing PSU is not brainer. All you have to do is remember every connection that you disconnect, either by writing them down or taking a pic of it. Either way, you need to try a known working PSU to troubleshoot your problem.

There are too many variables to look at when trying to troublshoot. Might be easier, though more expensive, to bring it to a computer repair shop and have them check it. If there is a friend that that is computer savvy that could look at it, better yet. Good luck.

If the power supply fan spins up and the motherboard doesn't beep, it could be the motherboard.

If the power supply fan spins up and the motherboard beeps, it could be the RAM (depending on the beep.. check your manual if you have one).

If the power supply fan doesn't even spin, it's the power supply.
