PC noise

Hi
::
My PC has started to make odd low buzzing noises for no apparent reason. They start for no reason and stop for no reason. Well, there probably is a reason - I just don`t know what it is. The sets of 4 buzzes can repeat for several minutes; sometimes more, sometimes less.
::
Format :- 4 separate low buzzes that last around 3 secs. in total, audible from around 5 mtrs away in a quiet room. The noises don`t appear to have an debilitating effect on the PC itself.
::
Oddly, another completely separate PC that I owned several years ago started doing exactly the same thing - same noises, same duration.
::
Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

I agree, I was at my uncles house and I just happen to hear one of his making a very similar noise. Opened the case and I determined that it was the CPU fan, not saying that is what it is in your case. Most of the time that I've seen the CPU fans going out before the others, but that is based on when most heat sinks had smaller fans vs. now days that they are coming with 80mm+ fans that tend to last longer. I would check it out now if you're going to fix it yourself or don't run it until you have it checked out by someone to keep from possibly damaging your system.
