Hey guys, I'm looking for a computer magazine subscription for a christmas present and I'm not sure which one I want. I want it to be geared towards hardware and not really games. Just share your personal favorites with me so I can be sure to pick a good one. Thanks.

EDIT: forgot to say, I'm leaning towards "pc magazine" but I want to make sure there is nothing better. Thanks.

PC Magazine
PC World
Computer Shopper

PC MAG and Computer Shopper you find free subcriptions online all the time. PC world harder to find.

I used to be a huge fan of Maximum PC, but I have sworn them off now. They have no idea what they are doing anymore. Hell their dream machine got rocked by another computer they reviewed in the same issue. The worst part of it was that I argued with their editor a month or so before about WHY it would get owned. They replace practical with bleeding edge, without considering the consequences. I won't ever buy another magazine from them again.

who gets magazines in the digital age?

My Dad works at the post office inside a huge printing press that makes several big magazines. Computer magazines are wildly popular and growing pretty quickly.
