I used to buy MaximumPC off the stands but it was quite literally insane at $10 Canadian per issue. It was good, however I expect a magazine 3x as thick if I'm paying ten bucks.

I would pick one up every now and then in the states and it was still 7-8 bucks. Aka, it was expensive. but i did get the "bonus cd" of extras....

I read Extreme Tech and it was actually pretty good, not as good as MaximumPC but a hell of a lot better than PCMAG.

I subscribe to PC Gamer, PC World, PC Magazine, and Computer Shopper. They help me stay kind of in touch with some areas I don't follow avidly, and they help me recommend things to peole and tell people what to look for. Not everyone wants to build a PC themselves, so I try to help them with pre-built systems and other devices.

I subscribe to a bunch o' mags: PC World, Maximum PC, PC Gamer, and PC Mag to name a few. I hardly ever read PC Mag. I find PC World to be a decent mag, and it's nice for me since as CTO of a small community bank, I need to stay in touch with those boring laser printer, scanner, digital camera, etc. reviews. Max PC is more my "pleasure" mag. I hardly ever read PC Gamer, but heck, it was free...

I have PC Magazine, and yeah, it does have a lot of useless stuff like printer and digital camera stuff. Also a lot of office tweaking, which I don't really care about. There is a lot of cool stuff in it though, and the Backspace section is pretty funny :)

I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't any good, I just don't do a whole lot of gaming anymore (3 kids, wife, job, etc. will do that to you...) so most of the info isn't that useful for me, personally.
