I am having an absolute nightmare with an Apple Laserwriter Pro 600 printer connected locally via the parallel port to my PC. You can set it up fine and print. However, once I restart the PC I cannot print. The job goes into the queue and just sits there on 0 bytes processed. It worked fine with my old PC (Windows 95) but my new PC (Windows 98, 800Mhz, 128 Ram, 30Gb Hd) just won't print to it. I would network the printer, but that model does not support ethernet. I think the problem may be something to do adobe postscript. I have been struggling with this problem for over a month now and have tried everything possible. All the drivers that I install work fine the first time I print but die when I restart the PC. The only solution I can find from every other source I tried is to update to the latest adobe driver, but this doesn't work. The only way I can print if I switch my machine off is to completely remove and reinstall the print drivers and this is not acceptable. I know the printer is old but I cannot afford to get another of the same quality, so any input would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance
