PC keeps getting better: High School team's trip to tournament in Arizona canceled

The thing that pisses me off the most about this is that the children raised the money to go on this trip through bake sales.

Now, if the school was footing the bill then I might be a little more understanding.

The parents should tell the school to fuck off and show up at this tournament anyways. Unfortunately, even if you pay your own way, you still need sponsorship from an educational institution.

Now, here is a question. So these students were selling goods for the school to raise money on the pretense that the money would go towards this trip. If the students do not take this trip where does the money go? If I raise money for a specific cause and then go out and buy a BMW you can be damn sure that government would be at me door in a heard beat.

I can see them cancelling the trip if they had to fly through a fricken ash cloud but AZ? Sounds like someone pushing their agenda. I am not familiar with Highland Park or its politics. Lot of libs there? I wasn't expecting to see a photo of a predominately white team...

So do you know the answer or are you still stuck...

Nice edit. I almost called you out.

But I'll answer your question. Fuck yes there are a lot of liberals in Highland Park, wtf do you think? A Chicago neighborhood...

Did you really think a conservative would think of such a dumbass idea?

Well you are the one who said this:

Well, it IS Illinois. We love illegals here. Its not a coincidence that they hop the border and flock to Chicagoland. They are well taken care of here.

I was expecting to see illegals. I've never been to Chicago, that's why I asked. Thanks for answering. We have Ann Arbor here near Detroit which is the only place that comes to mind where they might pull this kind of shit.

You can keep your race card.

What are they doing about the Federal law that says it is a crime to be in the United States illegally? They will have to boycott themselves.

I wonder if reactions would be the same if this was a high school trip being canceled because the trip was to a place with a policy conservatives found distasteful. It seems to me like crying "PC" is just shorthand for people standing up for beliefs you disagree with.

That said, I'm not sure a girls' basketball trip is the best way to make a statement about your beliefs. I just wonder if the reactions in this thread so far are mostly because you guys like Arizona's new law...

Whether I like the law or not (in this case, I do), it's quite simply idiotic for the school to pretend that it's for anything other than liberal PC policies. Basketball tournaments have nothing to do with politics, and it should stay that way. Idiot school administrators should be fired immediately.... and I'd say the same if it was regarding a law that I didn't agree with.

My general angst is that a person who works for the people and has no legitimate reason (faux "safety" concerns notwithstanding) has exceeded any conceivable reasonable mandate and decided that because the power exists the power to override the wishes of those she works for (the citizens of the district) is fine to use.

That is not the case. The school belongs to the people who pay taxes there, not those who believe their political sensibilities can step on citizens rights.

I hope the individuals who made this decision are fired.

Uh oh. Looks like Sarah Palin is involved:

Story Here

And the best part of the story:
Palin said: "Everything I ever needed to know, I learned on the Basketball Court: self-discipline, setting goals, teamwork, responsibility." She later added: "including being a lazy money grubbing airheaded opportunist."😱

Let's have a meet. Invite the Air Head and the Totalitarian.

Then we can mock them appropriately 😛
