Ok, my computer keeps freezing, or crashing. I think I've narrowed it down to the mobo, but just want a second opinion before buyin a new one. I have Win 2K Advanced Server / Win 98 in dual boot. Hardware is as follows

CPU: 900 mhz Duron
Mobo: Abit Kt7 - Raid
Ram: 1 128 meg Infineon, 1 256 meg Crucial
Video: ATI 32 DDR
Sound: SB Live
Network: 3Com 10/100

OK. With everything in, no overclocking, it'll run at most 10 or 20 minutes before freezing. Usually, it freezes. I unplugged the USB mouse, plugged it back in, and the light didnt come back on (Its optical). I hit the Caps lock key on the keyboard, and the Caps light doesnt come on, so it definately locked tight. I ran it bare bones, with just the video card, and 1 stick of Ram, and alternated both sticks. It freezes in both 2K and 98, so it follows the OS.
Now the weird part
So, in stock config it pretty well freezes no matter what the hardware setup is. If I go into BIOS and crank the voltages up, it'll run ALOT better. I went from CPU Default voltage to +.75 volts over default, and upped the I/O voltage by .5 volts. It still crashed, but would run a few hours before crashing. I dont want to up the voltages much more, since I dont want any magic smoke comin from my PC. The problems started about a week and a half ago, right after I did a reformat. In order to install 2K, I have to take my HD off the ATA/100 slot and put it on the ATA/66 slot. I'm thinking sometime during all the channel swapping, card pulling and cleaning somehow I cracked / fried my Mobo.
So, anything I've overlooked? I've done everything I can think of. As a side note, i did have a 800 T-bird until 3 days ago, when in the process of fixing this I cracked the core putting my heatsink back on, after removing it to clean it, as i thought maybe heat was the issue.

Anyways, any thoughts or comments would be MUCH appreciated, as I am CONFUSED BEYOND ALL BELIEF!!!!! Thanks in advance!

When it rains it pours.........:(

I think your assessment of the problem sounds about right. The only other thing it could be is the powersupply is getting weak, if you have a spare one laying around you might try it out.

Thanks guys! a second (and third and fourth too!) mind on a problem always helps! :)

*****UPDATE******
Ok, tried a different power supply, still locks up. i checked my setting, default voltages for the CPU are
Core - 1.6
I/O - 3.3

If I turn it up to
Core - 1.65
I/O - 3.4
Everything runs stable for the most part, although it does blue screen every so often. I dont know how high to set the voltages withou frying stuff, and I dont wanna see magic smoke...So, does this rule out the PS and make it sound like maybe the MOBo is bad? Or is my motherboard not detecting what the default voltages should be correctly?

You'd be better off to connect the proper bridges for a 1.7v defualt and leave it at that. You powersupply may still be the culprit, supplying the wrong voltage to one of the rails.

A lot of times those random freezes are video related - something just can't keep up. Try backing down you video performance a couple of notches on the performance slider. Or if it is set for max appearance, change it and see what happens. You could be a bit on the skosh side with your vidram.
