pc just beeps

the pc is a dell, upon powering the system the pc just beeps. it has a p4 proc and 256x2 rambus.i wish i can provide more info about the system but my cousin has it. any suggestions? 🙂

First steps of troubleshooting someone else's computer:
Ask them if it ever had any problems before or shown anything unusual (random reboots could be the beginning of a power failure, for example, whereas constant bluescreens could be memory failure)
Has the computer been moved or damaged in any way since it last worked properly?
