pc help please

i am building a new computer. i have an msi 655 max mobo abd a 2.6ghz p4 i am going to run a msi geforce fx 5600. i put it together and tryed to boot up the computer boots up all the fans run but i dont get any output from my video card the fan on it runs but nothing not even a flicker or anything i tryed reseating the card but it didnt help

Hm. What voltage is your AGP card? The MSI 655 only supports up to 1.5v.

Other than that, you should prolly double check all your motherboard jumper settings, maybe reset the CMOS. If none of that works, time to test the card and the mobo; switch them out with hardware known to work. (Or, optimally, trade video cards with a friend and see if they work in each other's mobos.)

Oh yeah, test the monitor too. Heh, might not even be the computer that's the problem...

Take everything out, until all you have in there is a stick of RAM, your video card, and your processor. See if it boots.

If so, then put items in there one by one so you can determine which component is causing the problem. I've had problems like yours and they are real annoying. :( Check the jumpers on your IDE drives as well. I've had that exact error happen when I've had two hard drives set to master on the same channel or something.
