I just got a 42" Plasma TV sunday and took the old 32" LCD HDTV and hooked it up to my PC. Right now, it seems that the picture is not as clear as it can be. Smaller fonts are blurry and sometimes, the colors are a little messed up. But all in all, it looks okay. I was just wondering now if there was a way to set my PC output mode to HD mode. Not sure if it is possible or not to upscale it to 1080i. My graphics card is a BFG 6800GT and im using the VGA cord to connect the TV and PC. If i cant upscale it, is there a program or way to make the image clearer? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Couple of pointers:

-set your display resolution to the exact resolution of your lcd, the newer driver sets let you cusomize the settings..my guesse is 1280x720 or maybe 1366x768
-check the htpc forum at avsforum.com for help with your tv...someone there may have the same model and know the settings

You should be able to get 1:1 mapping with some trial and error. It should look good, but given the size the pixel structure will be visible if you are too close. Good luck.

I get the same problem when I use VGA connectors... "some" parts of the display are fuzzy. I switched over to DVI, and now, my widescreen 27inch LCD looks prefect.

If you have DVI or HDMI input on your HDTV, probably. If it's 'blurry' and doesn't look good, you are undoubtedly not running it at the right resolution, since it should look as good or better than viewing HD content.

I strongly suggest looking over at AVSForum to see if anyone has your exact model and has tried hooking it up to a PC.

thx for the help. got most of the problems fixed. image are nice and crisp now. only problem is that there is some ghosting effects when playing games. also, when playing games, cloroed specks show up around darker colors when moving... i think it might be a cable problem. any ideas?

Try adjusting your brightness/contrast.
If you're using analog connection, try disabling the upconversion filter.
