The "optomization" argument is pretty moot.

Compare Halo 1 to Halo 2, God of war to its sequel, etc...very very similar graphics and very far apart in the consoles lifespan.

You can only do so much with static hardware. PCs continually improve in hardware specifications, consoles dont.

much better, great job OP! 🙂

did you loop the music at the end when the 1st time the giant alien walker from crysis comes out? there seemed to be an abrupt change there.

actually, later console games also slow down ... at end of life i don't expect many 1080i games that will run at 30 FPS ... certainly zero AA ... *chug chug chug* as Devs ATTEMPT to keep up with the PC's gfx

and that is happening next year

at least you can *upgrade* a PC ...

Dont get me wrong, i love consoles and own 5.

But to say that PCs wont quickly pass consoles shortly after their launch is a joke at best.

How about shortly before launch?
The GeForce 8800 was out in advance of the PS3.

didn't the CEO of nVIDIA claim that would happen?

Bet Sony wasn't pleased with that either. They did pay Nvidia a good bit of money for the GPU for the PS3. Its a 7900GTX derivative, if I remember correctly.

Oh, Fallensight, the Xbox 360 does use DX9.

PCs will always leapfrog consoles in terms of processing power, its a scientific fact. Most of the technologies in today's consoles began life in PCs years ago.

good job

Looking forward to
Enemy Territory
Jericho
Crysis

doubt if my current system can handle any of these games decently

I swear I could just watch 9 minutes of Crysis footage with that Requiem music playing...good stuff!

Meh, it was a bug in the Premiere editing that I realized right after the video was rendered and didn't want to bother with it again. I didn't repeat anything, it's the real continuation of the song. 😛

Glad you liked it though. 🙂

BTW, has anyone else ever noticeda Quake game, Half-life game, Crytek game, Clive Barker, Chris Taylor, Command and Conquer game coming out in the same year before? :Q

The updated video is awesome! The first one video you made was decent too, but of course the revision fixes some of the things wrong with the original.

So overall, great job, and thanks!

Looking forward to tons of games now that I've seen that (plus a few others like TF2, Frontlines, and any new racer in 2007).

The only problem is that I will not have money to buy more than 3 or 4 at most the rest of 2007, and my computer will have some major difficulty with some of them. I should probably just buy one I really want and know will run fine (Ep2 + TF2) then wait for others to drop in price so I can end up with more than 3 by the end of the year.
