you know how console gamers always make fun of PC gamers and think their skillz are far better than ours?

I can't wait to own them with my mouse and keyboard :p

I know UT2007 is coming for PC and PS3...what about xBox360?

I hope someone will make a multi-platform network that allows PC gamers to own PS3 and xBox360 gamers at the same time ;)

I wouldn't say its an aimbot, but yet most console FPS by default have some sort of autoaim. Back in the early PC FPS games, they finally got rid of horizontal autoaim, but in games like Quake for example, vertical autoaim was still noticeable. Of course I played Quake for a good year or more before moving to kb+mouse (and even then it was that damn mouse2 as +forward style :)).


If you want to check out how console playings fairs against PC players, pick up an Xbox/360 controller, setup Pinnacle Game Profiler or ControlMK to your favorite FPS game, and try competing against all the kb+mouse players. I have a 360 controller but I haven't messed around with playing FPS games on it. Most of the popular games like DoD:S, BF2, HL2, etc have profiles already for using the controller to play.

If you've played halo for xbox you'd notice that the targeting reticule will slow slightly when it passes over something you can shoot. If you leave it stationary over another character and the character moves then the reticule will follow them slightly. Even without the aimbot I found halo for the pc to be much easier due to the kb/m. In short I have no doubt that pc players would pwn console players in FPS and RTS type games simply because of the control interface.

And yet, all this would be fixed (and I would buy a 360) IF they let you hook up a KB+Mouse...

Limited, only game with some keyboard support is FFXI thus far, not sure what else in the works.

Agreed. And they'll probably end up doing something retarded like giving the console people more health to make up for their deficiencies. It'd be nice to own console gamers a bit, but honestly I'd rather not have a group that probably makes the CS community look like decent human beings further turding up PC gaming.

Didn't SEGA and ID do this with Q3 on the Dreamcast? They opened the console servers to mouse and keyboard players and the console guys got decimated. They couldn't compete with the experienced veterans and the game died.
