PC gamepad?

Need a good but inexpensive PC gamepad for use with a PC. Reccomendations?

on a similar note, a review of one I was looking at:

This controller is everything you need, but it requires some time to program it. The only problem is that it doesn't come with the programming software. You must go to the Logitech website and download it. I got it for Half-Life 2 and it worked fine, but it took me about 30 min to program it.

who the hell buys a gamepad to play FPS games on the PC? are you retarded?

You can buy any old gamepad (Xbox 360 controller is good, so is Logitech Rumblepad 2) - and use a WONDERFUL little app called JoyToKey - it will literally let you map keyboard and mouse functions/axes/buttons to the gamepad. Even if the game doesn't support joysticks/gamepads

Google search for it and you will be pleased. Should be about 600K executable, just use common sense in finding the legit mirrors.

but it doesn't fulfill the inexpensive requirement (I believe it was $40 for a wired). Otherwise it's great.

I've got a Saitek P880, it's alright. Got the job done in Psychonauts, not so great for MAME fighters since the analog sticks have square shaped restrictors rather than circular. There are also a lot of console to PC adapters available for PS2/Xbox pads etc.

i'm going to mainly be using the gamepad for emulated games but if the Xbox 360 controller is really good and comfortable, I might consider buying one. I've never played an Xbox at all, so I don't know anything about the controllers.

the wired version is $31.95 on Amazon. I could always check Ebay too.

Heh, it's just fun to use an analog stick on a gamepad to move your mouse cursor on the screen 😉

That and play an RTS with it! Hotkeys and macros galore if you set it up with JoyToKey

I have a Game Elements GGE909 Recoil Pad.
It is very similar in layout to a PS2 controller.
2 analog sticks, d pad, 4 face buttons, 4 shoulder buttons, start, select, retractible USB 2.0 cord, vibration feature.
All for $15 at WalMart

another vote for the gravis gamepad pro! Also, if you like the feel of the Playstation controllers like i do, they have this adapter floating around online that supposedlyworks flawlessly with the PS2 dualshock controllers. I haven't gotten one yet, but thats something to consider too if you like it.

I bought a Logitech Rumble Pad 2 on clearance at Target for $7.24 and it works great on my pc with Marvel Alliance and Need For Speed Carbon.

However, I don't see it on clearance at Target anymore or maybe they have a newer version out now, and its going at full price for about $20 I think.
