I will be going on a long trip and I will have a lot of free time. What is a good PC game to buy for my laptop to accompany me. I dont think there will be a lot of wifi hotspots so preferably no online :(.

I have already beat all the GTA games. (and far cry and the punisher)

lol I was thinking battery life. As for the lack of resource demands...well...

SC2 is just an ancient adventure game (from the early 90s) ported to run on XP. Won a lot of awards when it was out. It's basically a Star Trek adventure type of game in the sense that you have a ship and almost completely free reign over your actions (although everything you do adds in some way to the plot). There are literally more than a thousand planets and more than 100 system to explore. The dialog and voice acting are also hilarious.

The graphics are old emulated VGA, but they look great in an old-skool kind of way and do their job perfectly.

If you're into RTS, definitely get Rise of Nations with the Thrones and Patriots expansion pack.

rise of nations is good, but i feel like the game play could be slowed down quite a bit to make it better, but oh well.

If you want something more passive, I recommend the Myst series (Play them in order if you go this way though).

Only real complaint I have about them is that in Riven, there's too much "get lucky and push the button to open the secret passage" action as opposed to actual puzzle solving, but it's still a great game.

Civiliztion 3 $10 at Wal-Mart. I If you like RTS or Turn Based Strategy, I guarantee you will get your $10 worth back.

If you got a beefy Laptop... Civilization 4.

Great idea, a buddy of mine gave me a disk that had the JNES emulator and 502 games, ya you heard correct 502 NES games.
these old games are always a good break from the games that I play now, lots of fun times and great memories.

Well I would just read a book or two, but any decent RPG should tide you over quite nicely, maybe Fable?

Half of which are only good online.

I reccomend Morrowind, or Knights of the Old Republic.
