I'd like to see some material that shows enabling xmp reduces the likelihood of errors. afaik, it's an overclocking tool.
yes but after configuring xmp, did you reinstall windows? or just boot into allready installed windows?
do a simple google search with the motherboard model and the word "freezes" and then look at the fourm threads where people were able to fix the issue.
im not trying to reinvent the wheel. just relaying what i found.

Reinstalled windows again with the RAM set to XMP, and still had a freeze.
Hmm, this is a toughie indeed, I trust you bought a decent PS, I used to go with cheapies until I got sick and tired of replacing them and got an Antec earthwatts 2 years ago, zero problems since. You might want to buy a cheap PCIe vid card just to eliminate the one you are using as a possible source (or install the card your using now in another system and see if you have lockup issues with that system), it's possible you current card and MB just won't "play nice", I have a Phillips "47 TV that works fine with some HDMI devices and flat-out won't work with some cable boxes, weird..
going back through the thread, i see you tried a diffrent video card. Did you ever try a different pci-x slot for the video card?
is this system overclocked or is the 4.4ghz speed from Turbo boost?
have you tried the system at stock settings or disabled turbo boost?
another thing that came to mind... do you have Lucid virtual installed?
It's tough when you don't have more than one of the suspect part, but you just have to bite the bullet and get a motherboard, or send yours out to be checked.
