PC Freezes very often for no apparent reason

Well, if XP Setup won't run, obviously there's a hardware issue, so just remove all hardware except the bare essentials and re-test. If that won't work, keep replacing the basic components until you find the problem.

Erm, i dunno, but it seems to me that mister mechBgon has already solved the problem, or at the very least put forward a very strong candidate for your system fvck ups

Surely you should make sure FIRST that thats not the reason why you are having all these problems, before you start booting in safe mode and trying to reinstall windows etc.

Just my 2 PENCE (uk ;) ) for all its worth.

Haha - thanks. I forgot about that 12V connector. I'll go pick up a new PSU today. :)
