PC for Parents

As far as cases go, I built a Fractal Design Core 1000, much smaller than I expected! I really liked the way it looked when complete:

Size: 16.54" x 6.89" x 13.98"

For the $$$ I can't think of anything better!

It only takes Micro ATX mobos whereas the OP has full ATX.

Antec Two Hundred plus fanless 5450 gets my vote.

I wouldn't be too sure, my 70+ neighbor just bought an Antec 300 Illusion and loves it, lol... :thumbsup:😀

The Antec 300 Illusion is a pretty good case. Not sure if they'll like the case lights, but I can always cut wires to the LEDs to disable the lights.

Front panel...do people really actually hook those up and use them?

No, things like the power and reset switch, and the HD LED. Those are the front-panel connectors.

No, you're fine, just a lazy geek. :awe: But seriously, the power and reset buttons, PC speaker, and LEDs are traditionally known as the the "front panel" connectors.
