Hello! I want to buy a computer and already looked for Pre-built systems but I couldn’t trust them :( Because I saw that their cooling systems weren’t enough powerful. (Ex. ASUS ROG Strix G15DK) So I want to build a computer but I really don’t have any idea. Could you help me to build one? Thanks…

What is the purpose of building the machine?

For productivity or gaming?

If you are concerned about cooling, does that mean you are interested in overclocking?

Gaming. I’m not really. But I don’t want to see 85 90 degrees while gaming.
Which platform do you prefer? Intel or AMD? For gaming, currently 5800X3D offers great value. On the Intel side, you can go with 13600K but to get maximum advantage, you would need expensive DDR5-6400 CL32 RAM (at the very least). The 5800X3D can make do with DDR4-3200 CL16 and still deliver respectable frame rates.

Any particular game genres you prefer?

Are you just starting out with PC gaming or do you already have a Steam library of games? Epic store gives out free game(s) every week.

Do you intend to do VR gaming?

On the graphics side, what resolution do you prefer? If you want 4K and raytracing, Nvidia may be the better option (though we may have more information about AMD's nextgen in a few hours).

I want to play Elden Ring, Forza Horizon 5 and Cyberpunk 2077. If possible I want to play them at least 2K maybe 4K.

I think your choices are:

Radeon 6700 XT 12 GB (cheapest)
Radeon 6750 XT 12 GB (some models may be available at same price as 6700 XT. Raytracing performance is better but it also consumes more power and may run slightly hotter).
Radeon 6800 16 GB (Decent performance. Power and heat are relatively tame).
Radeon 6800 XT 16 GB (More performance for more power and heat)

Geforce 3080 10 GB (this is the minimum you should get on the Nvidia side)
Geforce 3080 12 GB (Slightly more future proof)
Geforce 3080 Ti 12 GB (Better if you can afford it)

Unfortunately, for anything more than 12 GB on Nvidia side, the price and power consumption rises significantly. Go with a 3090 or 3090 Ti only if you are prepared for the additional cost and heat output (though you can undervolt to make it run at sane power levels).

Starting from page 29 of that review, you can compare the different cards to see which one would be the best value for your needs.

Thank you. So what do you think about that one ?

It seems kind of generic and possibly may include some cheap components to make a good profit for the system builder. If you can get them to put a 5800X3D in that system and increase the RAM to 32 GB and ensure that the SSD is a Samsung 980 Pro or WD SN850 while keeping price below 1500, I guess it would be an OK system.

I've created two configurations here for you:

Intel: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sKvHsL

AMD: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X2Xg4s

I've tried to keep the price down as much as possible while trying to give you quality components. See which of these configurations make sense for you considering their availability and price in your country of residence.

The highlighted portions may be problematic in the long term. ADATA and Teamgroup are OK but not considered great. B450 is an older chipset. That PSU is some cheapo model from a brand I've never heard of before.

If they don't want to build their own, that is a nice system. Off the shelf parts and fits the budget. 5800X and 6700XT makes for a well balanced gamer. 4K in some heavy newer AAA titles is pushing the GPU a bit too far, but that's what FSR is for. And they get a single point of contact for warranty stuff.

BTW, that B450 AORUS ELITE has gotten my son through 4yrs of a computer science degree and many 1000s of hours of gaming. No way anyone could tell the difference between playing on it and X570. I have also seen tech tubers buy old PCs from CeX with those AZZA power supplies, and they still work. Easy enough to replace down the road when it is out of warranty since it is all standard.

I don't know the market there, someone else will have to say if there are better prebuilts for the money.

Good points. It's got 2 year warranty but they state that they will likely only do repairs. It shouldn't be an issue if everything works as it should. He will have to do a comparison of the prices of putting the parts together himself, if he thinks he can save more money that way or get higher end components for the same price. But if he would rather not think so hard and just wants something ASAP for gaming, sure, this will do fine.

Thank you. I looked systems and it makes around 1500-1600 CHF already. Probably gonna buy the one with AMD processor.

Btw, I couldn’t find fans. Could you suggest me another one ?
