PC Finally booted - How do I know if it's working right?

Any advice on what's wrong and how to fix it? My first PC I have made in 10 years. It booted up first try and haven't had any issues (aside from things not working correctly).

Seems like there's definitely a problem with RAM detection, but I'm not sure about the rest.

Any other information I can give you? Any other programs I can use to test? What about benchmarks?

The build:

4770k, 780 Ti, 2x8gb Tridents.

Motherboard model will be helpful

so you have 2x8GB but only 8GB showing up?

Check the installation sequence for the DIMMs in the manual. And make sure both DIMMs are seated correctly in the slot.

Whenever I complete a build, I run Memtest86+ for 24 hours, and then start using it if I'm not overclocking. If I overclock, then I also run programs like Prime95 and OCCT for stability testing in Windows.

ASUS Maximus VI Hero. I got the RAM working, I think. I had to enable XMP. My temperatures seem to be at around 40 with my 4770k @ stock with a Noctua NH D14 basically idle. From what I can google, this seems high. I think I might have screwed up the paste.

Yep! That's the one. Are there any guides on what I should be doing to double check everything? Most importantly with results that I should be comparing to?
